Every month our focus group works with youth workers to nominate a young person from one of our projects to receive a Jack Petchey award for achievement. They receive £250 to spend on an event with at least 9 other young people. This means that we can give lots of our young people opportunities to experience new things such as a roller disco, Airsoft, a day out on the South Bank, or trampolining.
Winners receive their certificate at the Christmas Ball and also have the opportunity to attend a regional presentation event.
P was nominated for the Jack Petchey Achievement Award in October 2018 by his peers and youth workers, because of the commitment and hard work he showed during the boxing sessions. He provided encouragement to other young people during sessions and was always willing to help staff and others.
